ABOUT
Daniel Tavares Zlock has been experimenting with makeup since 2014. By late 2016, he became very dedicated and was consistently practicing as a face and body painter. Since then, both makeup and face/body painting have been a huge part of his life.
Living Color Designs was formed first as a Facebook page with the intent to simply have a platform to showcase his work to a larger audience. As his portfolio grew and eventually reached a larger audience, he has had several opportunities working with local clients to apply makeups for various creative projects and special events.
Additionally, Daniel has had the opportunity compete in "Naked Canvas", a Connecticut-based competition showcasing local body painters. He competed in the 2022 and 2023 shows.
Daniel has also worked in makeup departments for several seasonal haunted attractions. He was a makeup artist in the makeup departments at both The Haunted Graveyard at Lake Compounce located in Bristol, CT and Terror at Quassy located in Middlebury, CT. As he excelled within those teams, Daniel had the opportunity to perform live makeup demos and assist with live body paintings for promotional and entertainment purposes in support of both attractions. In 2022, Daniel was offered the role of Assistant Manager of the makeup department at Terror at Quassy. He co-managed the team during that season before stepping away in 2023 to focus on other creative ventures.
In addition to Living Color Designs, Daniel also has a passion for a wide variety of visual arts as well. He graduated in 2021 from the School of Art and Design with a BFA in Graphic Design. Art and design are still a large part of his life and creative work.
